Tis the season for cute Christmas reads...and even if you, like me, aren't the type that enjoys Hallmark-style plots, there's still something about drinking tea and reading a sweet Christmas-y romance.
A Royal Christmas | Melody Carlson
While this was likely my least favorite out of the four in this list, if you like the "secret royal heir/Princess Diaries" trope, you'll probably enjoy A Royal Christmas.
I did really like the focus on Adelaide's relationship with her father, and how she was willing to learn about her newfound culture and what it meant to be a ruler.
The Christmas Catch | Toni Shiloh
I'm not a football fan, so when I saw that the main guy in this was a football player, I was skeptical...and Toni Shiloh proved me wrong. I still don't care much about football, but I was very invested in Jahleel and Bebe's relationship. This was the first Toni Shiloh book I've read, and I really like her writing style and how she incorporates faith into the story.
Meddling With Mistletoe | Liz Johnson
Did I read this for the Prince Edward Island setting? Yes. Was I disappointed that there weren't Anne of Green Gables references? Also yes. Was it still a cute story? Yes.
I will say that I found Aretha annoying and that it was odd how she was portrayed as a person of faith (I think) yet was encouraging Daniel to date Ruby, who was pretty obviously not interested in any of the traditional values Aretha holds. Still, I liked Daniel and Whitney together.
You Make it Feel Like Christmas | Toni Shiloh
Yes, another Toni Shiloh book! I might have liked this one the best of these four, but it's closely tied with The Christmas Catch.
My favorite part of this was the focus on family, and friends-to-more will always be one of my favorite tropes. And, like her previous book, Shiloh wove in beautiful faith content to the story without being preachy.
